Any baggage carried by airline passenger in excess of the maximum limit fixed per passenger by the airlines is termed as Excess baggage and Airlines charge a hefty price on every kg excess carried.

Airlines providing services from India to Europe, Middle East, Fareast and Asian countries allow their passengers to carry 23 kg as free allowance and for those traveling across Atlantic Ocean allows passengers to carry 2 pieces of maximum 64 kgs as free allowance. Max weight per piece up to 32 kgs. Anything over and above this carried by the passenger is treated as Excess baggage
